How are you going to remember Corey Haim? As the tragically (and ironically) less-fortunate of the Two Coreys? As a forgotten actor who was unable to defeat his addictions and gave his life to indulge them?
Come on, we’re better people than that. I can think of at least three reaons why we should keep him fondly in mind.
LUCAS. SILVER BULLET. THE LOST BOYS.
Others may remember him for others… but these are the the three that poke my memory the most. And expletive-upon-expletive… how can I communicate the impact that THE LOST BOYS had on me…. click on this:
Just guess how many times my sister and I quote this damn song…
So please forgive my lack of flair for editing. My brother’s the editor in the family, not me. I can name three friends off the top of my head who are better editors than I. But somewhere, some idiot penned a legendary Hallmark card that said ‘it’s the thought that counts,’ and I bought into that policy like Sarah Palin buys Canadian Health Care.
So here’s what I could do in the span of an all-nighter. It’s not everything he did… it’s just my top three… and it’s the ones I’m gonna remember him for.
Thanks Corey, for making my 80’s a bit more ‘eighties.’

Yes… Haim had a few moments of genuine charm before becoming a major douche bag. I do remember being in High School though and throwing popcorn at the screen for the “Batman #14″ thing. That was just stupid because at the time the book to want was a TMNT #1 or a Spiderman #1.
Nice montage, Nick.
Funny… I had a similar reaction to the comic books… if only because that comic books as rare as the ones he would be talking about wouldn’t just be sitting on a shelf without any plastic covers and just available for anyone to grab. It’s like – literally – the most horribly run comic book store ever. Oh well, at least they got their stakes in the right place… thanks for the good words.
I actually saw License to Drive in the theater. Super excited for another movie about the two Coreys… but it’s not one of my favorites. Wasn’t Heather Graham the girl in that? And also… if anything… License To Drive gave us this Billy Ocean musical ear-massager:
Seriously… the man made women get out of his dream, and get into his car… madness you say? Genius, I say.
