I sort of hate that MACGRUBER exists, because I’ve always wanted a big budget MACGYVER feature.
Religiously, I recorded nearly every episode of MACGYVER’s seven seasons. Even the crappy seventh season.
I tried for years to get my hair to be the MacGyver mullet. I failed – and God cursed me for trying, resulting in the Mr. Clean look.
Heck, I even tried to replicate one of his MacGyverisms. It’s the one where MacGyver was buried in an avalanche, and Pete Thorton (played by the much loved Dana Elcar) was trying desperately to find him before they triggered another avalanche for safety reasons. So MacGyver used a zipper and some material from his ski suit to make a tiny parachute and used his ski pole as a blowgun to launch the parachute into the air to help signal his location. Which worked of course. Mine didn’t. But I think it’s because I didn’t replicate the avalanche part.
I’m also a huge fan of THE BIG LEBOWSKI. Hugely quotable movie for reasons of which I’m sure you’re already aware.
Keeping the two in mind… when I saw this MACGYVER/LEBOWSKI mash-up… I really just wanted pop in my old MacGyver tapes and call it a day.
