Happy 4th of July everyone! To celebrate the holiday in a silly, fun, yet ‘hell yeah’ sort of way… thought it’d be appropriate for this site to allow Bill Pullman do the honors.

First saw Independence Day at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City. Maybe a month or so into its’ release. A thousand seat theater mostly empty because everyone had already seen it. Classic theater. Wonderfully booming sound.

And then Bill Pullman came on and wonderfully boomed this speech. And my sister next to me pumped her fist and cheered ‘hell yeah!’

All these years later…. I still go ‘hell yeah.’

But also, years later, I learned I could also go “f**k yeah!”

Because sometimes… you just have to say “f**k yeah, America!” Because you know… sometimes… freedom isn’t free… it sometimes costs a buck-oh-five….

So Happy Birthday America! Enjoy family, friends, fireworks, and free speech!   Although I admit… this guy MAY have taken free speech a LITTLE bit too far this weekend…

I may never yell out the word “FREEEEEEEDOOMMMMMM” quite the same way again. A single tear rolls down my cheek….
