A ten-part series that stops putting the burden of New Year Resolutions on world at large. These resolutions will make Americans less annoying and more wonderful to be around. Let the world change, and not us… for a change…

RESOLUTION THREE: “I will remember that Charlie Sheen does not represent Hollywood.”
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, we have come down a long road you and I.
As a community, we have laughed and wept together as Hollywood insiders steal the spotlight by becoming the worst examples of what Hollywood has to offer.
Millions struggle the good fight to gain a foothold in this entertainment industry, yet when a few train wrecks overwhelm the media’s attention, it makes it that much more difficult to defend our career choices to family back home.
As a community, we have watched the brood of Martin Sheen grow from teen dream actors into performers and directors of true accomplishment.
We have watched Carlos Estevez – familiarly known as Charlie Sheen – rise in the Hollywood ranks from LUCAS to RED DAWN to PLATOON to WALL STREET. As a reminder, here’s one of his finer moments from that film*:
REVIEW: RANGO

Got into a sneak preview at the last minute to see RANGO at the AMC in Toronto. Here’s what I saw and thought.
RANGO reminded me of the joy I used to feel during the last Golden Age of Disney animation. The age that peaked with THE LION KING and MULAN (excepting the musical numbers, some great action moments). Yes, PIXAR is the king of all kings, and storytelling is their queen, but one thing about PIXAR is the imagery feels a bit familiar to me. They all look like PIXAR movies in that PIXAR style. For Get To The Chopper’s 100th post, I wanted to post something a little bit special. Seems fitting that I look no further than Timothy Walter Burton.
Tim Burton and I have a unique relationship. Due to coincidence and fortuitous circumstance, I have seen every one of Burton’s directorial efforts in the theater during first-run release. Yes, even PEE-WEE. I’ll even go so far as to say I saw the Burton-produced CABIN BOY in the theater. Yes, even CABIN BOY. Burton’s also responsible for one of my longest friendships (a more devoted fan than even myself, he’s even shaken Tim Burton’s pee-pee hand). It’s safe to say that all things Burton are close to my heart.
Right now, an exhibit of Tim Burton’s original artwork is travelling around the continent, and I was anxiously waiting its’ arrival in Los Angeles. However, thanks again to fortuitous circumstance, I found myself in Toronto where his exhibit had currently put up stakes.
And I managed to sneak off a few snapshots. You know, when they weren’t, you know, looking and stuff…. some of the pics are slightly out of focus, but it was the best I could sneak. Hopefully, this will whet the appetites of a few of you, and encourage y’all to check out this fascinating, revealing, and often, very intimate look into the overwhelming mind of Mr. Burton.
